Overwhelming response to Hermle's Open House

Hermle AG welcomed 1000 companies with over 2600 visitors during four days of exhibits at its annual April Open House. More than 800 visitors from 40 countries travelled to Gosheim, Germany for the event. The largest groups of visitors came from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Turkey, Scandinavia, Italy, Benelux, Hungary, Spain, Switzerland and Austria.

Interested industry professionals took part in over 100 guided tours of the plant to find out first-hand how Hermle machining centres are the produced and assembled. Visitors were especially attracted to the new assembly hall where Hermle's largest machine model, the C 60 U with a total weight of over 33 tons is assembled. Robot systems for automation of Hermle machining centres are also manufactured in the new assembly hall by HLS (Hermle-Leibinger Systemtechnik GmbH).

Hermle machining centres as well as the overall technology concept for milling were vividly illustrated in keeping with the motto "Exciting to the end". A special show with over 60 exhibitors covering clamping technology, CAD/CAM, control and measurement technology and featuring related technical presentations was also heavily attended by interested visitors.

The new machine model C 52 U MT dynamic, which features 5-axis simultaneous milling/rotational machining, was featured in a demonstration with a lidded impeller, highlighting its many user advantages in both technologies. This exhibit also amazed visitors with the extensive safety-engineering of the Hermle MT models in these sensitive machining processes.
Hermle's own recently released pallet management software HACS (Hermle Automation Control System) demonstrated how pallet management systems can be controlled and operated reliably and efficiently.

The application technology team demonstrated milling competence down to the finest detail with examples of machining including titanium aircraft components, medical technology instruments and implants, numerous dies for use in tool and mould making and also traditional exhibit demo workpieces such as a high-heel women's shoe, a cigarette lighter case, an aluminium carnival mask and a very realistic looking banana 50 cm in length. Never was the Hermle slogan "milling at its best" more apt.

Hermle subsidiary Hermle Maschinenbau GmbH was presented in an exhibit featuring components generatively manufactured using MPA technology (Metal Powder Application process).

Hermle service competence was demonstrated in a separate area at two machining centres. Extensive diagnostic and service tools showed users how quickly and competently Hermle Service can be on the scene to solve the problem at hand. The Hermle training department's presentation of training concepts was also a very popular exhibit.
