STIWA has long prided itself on being a leader in product and high-performance automation, developing innovative automation, production, and software solutions for more than 50 years. While the company first opened its doors in 1972 in Upper Austria, STIWA US recently expanded its presence by opening a new facility in 2025 in Rock Hill, S.C.
STIWA’s machining department was founded to supply high-precision components to support its automation division. In an industry where there is no room for error, STIWA needed 5-axis CNC milling machines that could meet the highest standards of accuracy, reliability and repeatability. Christopher Schwenke, Team Lead, explains that they turned to HERMLE because they are “able to produce more parts than with stand-alone machines, while maintaining the quality STIWA is known for.”
High quality, tight tolerance CNC machines
Before Jacob Anglin, CNC Machinist, began working with HERMLE machines, he knew one thing about the brand: they were a “high-quality brand with very good accuracy, and could hold really good tolerance.” Once he started operating a HERMLE, the experience lived up to his expectations.
Anglin also highlighted HERMLE’s service team. “Whenever you have an issue, they pretty much know almost exactly what that issue is, and they can solve it for you, or tell you how to solve it.” He added that HERMLE machines are so streamlined that they are easy to learn and allow HERMLE ‘s service department to have extensive knowledge and provide efficient support.
“HERMLE machines are really incredible machines.” – Jacob Anglin.
