Günther Beck to retire at the end of October 2026
The Supervisory Board of Maschinenfabrik Berthold HERMLE AG has appointed Jürgen Oswald (49) as a member of the Management Board with effect from 1 November 2026. He is set to replace Günther Beck (65), who will retire from the Board on 31 October 2026 when his contract expires. Accordingly, HERMLE, as part of its long-term succession plan, is ensuring an orderly and timely transition as well as continuity within the three-member Management Board. The other Board members are Benedikt Hermle (Production, Service, Human Resources) and, as of 1 January 2026, Kai Bacher (Sales, Design & Development).
Jürgen Oswald has worked for HERMLE since 2022, initially as the Head of Controlling and, since 1 January 2025, as a Chief Representative. As from 1 November 2026, he will be the Management Board member responsible for Finances, Information Processing and Material Management. This week, he put pen to paper on an initial three-year contract. Prior to joining HERMLE, Jürgen Oswald studied Business Administration and Commercial Law and held various positions in international industrial companies.
Günther Beck’s 30-year career at HERMLE began in 1994 as Head of Accounting, the same year he was appointed to the Management Board of Maschinenfabrik Berthold HERMLE AG. He will leave the company when his contract expires on 31 October 2026.
On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, Dietmar Hermle, Chair of the Supervisory Board, expresses his gratitude and thanks to Günther Beck for his extraordinary service and dedication and wishes him all the very best for the future. “Over the past decades, Günther Beck has contributed significantly to the success of HERMLE AG. At the same time, we look forward to working with Jürgen Oswald. He brings a wealth of experience from various previous roles, including working in mechanical engineering companies, and is a highly competent successor”, says Dietmar Hermle.
