What we do today determines what the world will look like tomorrow

HERMLE apprentices actively work in the various areas within Lebenshilfe

The idea for the Social Days came about as part of the “Training Marketing” project. The aim is to offer our apprentices added value during their vocational training at HERMLE, while drawing their attention to the issue of social responsibility. As an employer, it brings us closer to our goal of helping our apprentices grow on both a professional and a personal level. Besides professional skills, fostering social interaction is crucial; otherwise, our maxim “We at HERMLE” risks losing its meaning at some stage. Ultimately, it is not just about our products, machines or technology, but about people. And we truly believe people are the key to success.

To bring the Social Days to life, we cooperated with Lebenshilfe Tuttlingen. During the project, our second-year apprentices were each given the chance to spend three days actively working in the various areas within Lebenshilfe and to become a fully-fledged member of the team.

Our apprentices quickly overcame the inhibitions that we often have when working together with people with disabilities. Their feedback shows that they derived positive conclusions from participating in the Social Days. We are thrilled with this feedback, as it provides the perfect foundation for continuing the project.

A positive experience throughout
